Open Google Chrome and type in into the URL bar at the top and press enter or click here to go directly to that webpage.

On this page, click on the super obvious Free Java Download button.

You may see this message after clicking the download button. If so, just click on Agree and Start Free Download. When the download starts, click on the download in the lower left hand side of the screen.

Click on Install.

If it asks about setting Yahoo as your homepage, uncheck it and then click on Next.

The install time should be quick, but may take a couple minutes on slower computers.

When you get the successfully installed window, click on Close. If it automatically opens a new browser window, you can close it. If you needed Java for Internet Explorer, perhaps needed by an educational website, then you are done. Otherwise, for Google Chrome, continue below:

Enabling Java on Google Chrome

In your Google Chrome browser, enter chrome://flags/#enable-npapi into the URL bar at the top and press enter. You can also try clicking here.

Click on Enable.

At the bottom of the page, click on Relaunch Now which will automatically restart Google Chrome. You are now done!
